Ignatieff faces test of leadership

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff took direct control of his party in Quebec after his lieutenant restarted fighting after he quit over interference with 'Toronto Advisers.' "The message said by recent events is this: If you want to have what you want in Quebec, all you have to do is short-circuit the party's Quebec authorities in Toronto." says Montreal MP Dennis Coderre, who resigned because of Ignatieff's reversal of the choice of candidate in the riding of Outrement.

Ignatieff has, to say the least, been a pretty controversial figure at the head of the Liberal party, and I think now is the chance to redeem himself should he take it. As the leader, he can control the actions of the party, which could either bring him to power or drive the Liberals into the ground. if he wants to get himself a good reputation, he should take the opportunity while he has it.
